A little about Me

Let me take you back in time.

When I graduated college at the end of 2017 I felt like I had too many options while simultaneously feeling as though I had none. It was as though the world was my oyster and yet I had no idea where to start. So I was back home, living with my parents (yes, I am a millennial), applying to what felt like infinite amounts of jobs, and occasionally receiving an email back informing me of my rejection. All I really wanted to do was see the world, meet new people, and have adventures. I started researching ways I could get paid to travel.

I applied to be a flight attendant at the end of 2018 completely on a whim. I wasn’t expecting anything to come from it but a few months later I was graduating training, wings pinned, and ready to start the journey of a lifetime. Adjusting to the flight attendant lifestyle was tricky but always an adventure. 2020 brought a lot of changes to everything and the airline industry was no exception. A decreased demand for travel meant a drastic reduction in my company’s workforce and by the end of the year I found myself furloughed, my flight attendant dreams put on hold for the time being.

I’m tentatively back to work now but my time away put a lot of things into perspective for me. I was reminded why I applied for this job in the first place; to see the world, experience new cultures, meet new people, try new things. I started this blog because I wanted to create a space where I could write it all down; share my tips, past adventures, and plans for post COVID globe-trotting with fellow travel enthusiasts.

Thanks for coming with me on the journey!
